The short film started as a dialogue between Maik Perfahl and Robert Schwarz, based upon the weird auditive
spaces from Robert Schwarz’s composition “Drift Following The Seam”, of which the visual counterpart
evolves in one year of experiments with path-tracing engines. Maik Perfahl finally found the accurate chaotic
vividness in one algorithm called “Metropolis Light Transport”. He began to shape the stage with moving
lights and bending the space with various deformers. By going back and forth from chaos to physical order,
the animation is a dark experimental simulation of nature, packed into a dream-like and noisy mechanical
